In June of 2014, WLI hosts its inaugural summit titled, “Tapestry of Evolution: Strength, Power and Influence”.
The inaugural summit kick-off took place in June 6th featuring author Ana Castillo with her novel debut: "GIVE IT TO ME".

Alicia Chacon, "The participation in the buildinf of a human community is the aggressive promotion of the welfare of its citizens," states Alicia Chacon. A product of the Chicano Movement Alicia chose the path of becomming a leader of change.
Enriqueta "Queta" Fierro, Proponent of getting the under-served represented. She holds the ability to bridge the gap between political candidates, elected officials and the community... thus her astuteness and frequently pursued expertise.
Rosa Guerrero, Her mission is to share and lift cultural diversity as a beautiful "Tapestry" woven with all people. Artist, educator, dance's historian, above all humanitarian... Rosa as we know her continues to promote love, peace and cultural understanding.
Belen Robles, After nearly 60 years in LULAC history, she was the first woman elected National President of LULAC, the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization. Today, she works to ensure the culture, history, and economic conditions of El Paso are not overlooked.
Artitst Mago Gandara, "We don't do it on purpose, but artists are meant to upset the status quo," affirms artist/muralist Gandara. Her work reflects a love in negotiating the border culture creating art reflecting her dual existence in the U.S. and Mexico.
